Garden Doctor will never recommend a chemical pesticide or herbicide. Companion planting, physical barriers, encouraging predators. The old ways still work.
Plant biosecurity
We are writing clear biosecurity guidance, based on the plant health rules published by DEFRA and APHA, for what can be shared and what has to stay in the garden it grew in. Not glamorous, but it matters.
Less waste, more sharing
The average UK gardener throws away more surplus than they realise. Passing it on is better for gardens, wallets and the planet.

What is Leaf & Lush?
A gardening community for the UK, built around three things: a marketplace for passing plants and kit between gardeners, a way to find out what is wrong with a plant from a photograph, and a planner that works out what suits your particular patch of ground.
It is run by a small company in England. It is not a forum, and it is not a shop.
What can I actually do with it?
Photograph a plant that has gone yellow or spotted or been eaten, and get told what it probably is and whether it matters. Photograph your garden, answer a couple of questions about which way it faces, and get a planting plan and a list of seasonal jobs made for that space. Buy, sell, swap or give away plants, seeds, tools, pots and furniture with gardeners near you. And find the nurseries, allotments and plant fairs around you.
Do I need to know what I am doing?
No. A good half of what people ask is some version of "what is this and why does it look like that". The answers are written to be read by someone who has never pruned anything, and they say when something does not matter as readily as when it does.
What does it cost?
Browsing and listing on the marketplace are free and always will be. Garden Doctor and Garden Coach are free to use with a limit on how often.
Membership removes those limits, keeps your saved plans and check history, and adds early access to new tools. It is £4.99 a month or £44.99 a year, and you can cancel at any time.

Where does the advice come from, and is it safe?
Answers are generated for your specific photograph and situation, then checked against UK plant-health guidance. We only ever suggest organic treatments, so nothing we recommend is a hazard to pets, children or pollinators.
It is advice, not a diagnosis. If something matters a great deal to you, or you suspect a notifiable disease, say so and we will tell you who to contact.
Do I have to give my address to sell something?
No. Listings show the first part of your postcode and nothing more, so people can see roughly how far away you are without knowing where you live. You agree where to meet between yourselves once you are talking.
Are there adverts? Do you sell my data?
There are no ad networks in Leaf & Lush: no banner ads, no trackers following you around the internet, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone. Your photographs are yours. We do sometimes recommend our own products or a partner’s, and some of those arrangements pay us. Whenever that is true it is labelled where you see it, so you can tell at a glance.
